Licence to kill

Licence to kill

Timothy Dalton's second and last Bond film. 1989. Director: John Glen.
Bond's (Timothy Dalton) friend and colleague Felix Leiter (David Hedison) is getting married. But right before the ceremony, they hear that there's a good chance to catch the very wanted criminal Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi). They succeed and then Bond and Leiter jump with parachutes and land right in front of the church.
After the perfect wedding, Bond leaves Felix and his wife Della (Priscilla Barnes) late at night. But he shouldn't have. When Mr and Mrs Leiter enters their bedroom for their wedding night, there's some uninvited guys there, with guns.
Bond hears that something has happened and rushes back to Leiter's place, to find Della dead on the bed. Leiter is lying, wrapped up in paper, in his working room. Sanchez, who's escaped with the help of an evil policeman, tortured Leiter by letting a shark eat the half of his legs.
Bond wants to revenge, but isn't allowed by M (Robert Brown) who doesn't want Bond to interfere in the case. Angry and disappointed, Bond resign immediately and leaves, but without his licence to kill. But he doesn't care about that, the only thing important is to revenge.
Q (Desmond Llewenlyn) wants to help Bond and so he does, giving Bond equipment and other stuff necessary. Bond returns to Leiter's working room when the police has left, and finds out that Leiter is going to have a meeting with a girl named Pam Bouvier (Carey Lowell) who knows stuff about Sanchez.
Bond attend at the meeting and after a fight with Sanchez's henchmen, Bond persuades Pam to help him. They travel to Isthmus (fictional place) where Sanchez is located at the time. Pam act as Bond's secretary. Sanchez is smuggling tons of drugs and has big plans.
With the help of Sanchez's "girlfriend" Lupe (Talisa Soto), Bond infiltrate Sanchez's business. But Sanchez is a very dangerous man, and it'll take a lot from Bond to revenge. But there's more then just his revenge going on, Bond must stop Sanchez of other reasons too.
This is an exiting Bond film with more, "cold" violence. Bond is colder and he has personal reasons to kill Sanchez. Dalton laugh as Bond again, so annoying! Destroys a lot! Carey Lowell's Pam is tough and cool. Lupe is mostly just pretty, but helpful.
Sanchez's henchman Dario (Benicio del Toro) is scary and completely crazy. Sanchez himself is an intimidating villain. The truck chase in the end is really exiting and filled with explosions and action. Really good.
