Live and let die

Live and let die

Roger Moore's first Bond film. 1973. Director: Guy Hamilton.
Three MI6 agents are killed in 24 hours under mysterious circumstances. Bond (Roger Moore) travel to New York to investigate. One of the agents was killed there, and the suspicious Dr Kananga (Yaphet Kotto), dictator of the small island Saint Monique, is there too.
Bond's driver is killed on the way to CIA agent Felix Leiter (David Hedison), but Bond fortunately survives in the wild traffic. The driver who killed Bond's driver is later followed by Bond who comes to the smoky bar Fillet of Soul.
Bond meet the loud gangster Mr Big, the same man as Dr Kananga. He also meet the gorgeous Solitaire (Jane Seymour) who can see the future. Big / Kananga is up to something really bad.
He's producing tons of heroin and plans to give it to people in Harlem to make them addicted and then earn money when he makes his drugs expensive and the people addicted to it feel forced to buy it.
With the mysterious Rosie Carver (Gloria Hendry) who says that she's a CIA agent, Bond tracks Kananga and come closer to stop his evil plans. But first, there will be a wild boat chase and a lot of other exiting moments.
This is a great film. I loved it when I saw it for the first time, and I love it still. The perfect Bond film. Action, humour, action and marvelous music. The music is really wonderful. Creates the feeling.
Roger Moore is good as Bond. The only bad thing is that you might not take Bond as seriously as with the early Sean Connery, but it's not something that you think of so much.
