Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia!

The wonderful musical with a great taste of beautiful Greece. 2008. Director: Phyllida Lloyd.
Donna Sheridan (Meryl Streep) runs a hotel on a small greek island. Her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is going to marry the true love Sky (Dominic Cooper). What Donna doesn't have any clue of, is that Sophie has invited three of Donna's old boyfriends to the wedding.
Sophie is hoping that she'll find out which one of them who is her father, because she's never known anything about her dad. It's all a big secret, but she tells her closest friends and they sing and dance while Sophie is reading her mom's old diary where the three invited men are all mentioned in a warm way.
The three men arrive, thinking that Donna invited them. They don't know eachother and doesn't know that Donna had a short affair with the others too. Bill (Stellan Skarsgard), Harry (Colin Firth) and Sam (Pierce Brosnan) are the men, and when they found out that it's Sophie that sent the invites, they're afraid that Donna will be very displeased when she sees them.
The wedding is the following day, and everyone at the island is preparing it. Sophie hasn't told Sky about her secret actions, and she doesn't know how he's going to react when he finds out that she invited three complete strangers to their wedding.
It's two days filled with music, feelings, crystal clear water, dance and great film experience. I saw this twice at the cinema and probably too many times on dvd later.
It's one of those films that you never is tired of seeing. It's happy, easy and filled with the nice songs of the swedish group ABBA. You feel so happy after seeing it. One of the best musicals ever!
