Romancing the stone
Kathleen Turner and Micheal Douglas stars in the funny and exiting adventure movie "Romancing the stone". Director: Robert Zemeckis.
Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) is a successful novelist who lives alone in an apartment in Ney York with her cat Romeo. She's a very talented author, but her publisher Gloria (Holland Taylor) thinks that she should get herself a descent man.
When Joan gets home after meeting Gloria at a restaurant, she finds her apartment in a terrible mess. Someone has broken in! Joan is walking around, scared and nervous, when her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor) calls her from Colombia. Elaine says to Joan that she has to come to Cartagena in Colombia and bring her a map that her murdered husband sent to Joan before he died. Is Joan doesn't, Elaine will be killed.
Confused and out of her mind, Joan travel to Colombia, as Elaine told her to do. But Joan takes the wrong bus at the airport in Colombia, after a mysterious man in mustache tells her that the bus is the bus to Cartagena, but it isn't. After crashing into a jeep with the bus, Joan is alone in the jungle with the creepy man. He threat to shoot her, but then Jack T. Colton shows up and saves her.
He agrees in taking her to Cartagena for 375 dollars. But it's going to be that easy when they are chased by the man in the mustache, Zolo (Manuel Ojeda). Jack and Joan finds out that the map she got leads to a jewel, El Corazón. Jack persuades Joan to find the jewel and then give the map to the men who hold Elaine prisoner. But will they succeed?
This is one of my absolute favourite movies. It's funny, it's exiting, it's romantic, it's exotic and adventurous! A most-be-seen movie! The music symbolizes the 80's, but that's nothing wrong about that. Love the opening part where Joan's fictionary caracter Angelina manages out of some Wild West-trouble.
