'Crocodile' Dundee

'Crocodile' Dundee

The hilarious comedy with Paul Hogan as the cool Mick "Crocodile" Dundee. 1986. Director: Peter Faiman.

The New York reporter Sue Charlton (Linda Kozlowski) is romantically involved with her editor Richard (Mark Blum) but she's not going to see him for a while because she's in Australia to intervue a man 'in the bush'. She travels from Sydney to the Northern Territory, to an allmost deserted village called Walkabout creek.

At the pub the same night, she finally meet this Mick "Crocodile" Dundee (Paul Hogan) that everyone seems to talk about. He comes in, a bit drunk, with a dead crocodile. Not how you impress a lady from the big city. The following morning, Mick is more 'normal' and just as he agreed, he's going to take Sua to the place where he was attacked by a huge crocodile.

They walk in the bush and Sue realizes that Mick is more then just a stupid man in the country. They later kiss and Sue asks Mick if he want to come with her to New York, "The big apple". As a nice touch to the intervue, she says. He agrees, but he's never been in a real town in his life. The following days in the city that never sleeps are going to be fun and you'll never forget it ever in your life!

I just love this movie. Even though I've seen it several times I never find it boring at all. Paul Hogan is so charming as Mick who's use to the calm life in a small village in Australia. Linda Koslowski is good, but also replaceble. It's a very charming and sweet picture.

One of the most hilarious scenes is when Mick and Sue is standing at the subway station. Some guys comes and threats them with a knife. "Give me your wallet". That's what they want. "Just give it to them Mick", Sue says frightened. "Why?", Mick says cool. " 'Cause he has a knife Mick", Sue says. "That's not a knife", Mick says and look at the guy's little pocket knife. The guys looks supriced at him. "THIS, is a knife", Mick says and pull a huge knife from his jacket. Really hilarious in the film! I allways laugh.
