Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The sixth film. Both a romantic comedy and a tragic thriller. 2009. Director: David Yates.

It's now the sixth year for Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) at Hogwarts. The Death Eaters are making disasters in both the muggler and the wizard world. A bridge in London is turning and collapsing in the Thames, for the mugglers of an unknown reason. But the wizards and witches know. It's Voldemort.
Malfoy (Tom Felton) seems to be up to no good, sneaking around with his father who's a Death Eater. What Harry doesn't know is that Malfoy is about to do something that nobody ever could imagine. Unknowing about this, but wanting to find out the truth, Harry is spying on Malfoy. Malfoy knows and hit Harry pretty hard and leaves him to feel the pain. Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) fortunatly finds him.
At the same time as Harry exprience some psysically pain, romantic trouble is growing at Hogwarts. Hermione (Emma Watson) looks at Ron (Rupert Grint) with a new feeling, but Ron seems to be in love with the hysterical Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave). Harry is sad because Ginny (Bonnie Wright) is going out with Dean Thomas (Alfred Enoch), and it all seems to be a mess of crushes and hidden feelings.
Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) introduces the weird Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent) as the new teacher of Potions while Snape (Alan Rickman) becomes the Defence against dark arts teacher. Horace starts his "Slug Club" where more talanted students are members. Harry manages (with the help of an old, mysterious book signed the 'Half Blood Prince") to become a member of the club on orders from Dumbledore who wants Harry to persuade Horace to give him a memory of great importance.
Dumbledore reveils that he's looking for a horrokrux. Harry's going to help him to get it. But to know for sure, Dumbledore says, Harry must get the memory from Horace. Even though Horace seems to be a confused, scatterbrained man, he's not stupid and the hunt for the horrokrux seems to be more difficult then Harry thought.
This movie is a hundred times better than Order of the Phoenix. Not only because it's warmer and parttimes more funny, it's also more touching and dramatic. You don't know if you're suppose to hate or feel sorry for Malfoy who's bound to an important promise. It's from time to time like a romantic comedy, but better then all those stupid comedy's with Kate Hudson. This is filled with magic and things from the wizard world.
See it! I saw it on the premier day at cinema where it felt liek a hot sauna. I was so nervous and when I saw it I couldn't help both laughing and crying a bit at some scenes. Jessie Cave as the odd Lavender who simply adores Ron is talented and do an exellent work. As usual, my other favourites is Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith and of course Daniel Radcliffe who shows his skills as an actor here.
