The new version of John Waters musical with Nikki Blonsky and Zac Efron. 2007, Director: Adam Shankman.
Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) is a happy girl in Baltimore who's biggest dream is to be a dancer in the local tv-show "Corny Collins show". But because of her size, that dream seems far, far away. Her size is big, but her heart is even bigger. Tracy is one of the most caring people in Baltimore, but everyone just see her for her looks.
But one day, everything seems to change. Tracy tries to be the new dancer in the show when one of the girls quit. But the evil boss Velma von Tussle (Michelle Pfeiffer) kicks her out because that Tracy doesn't look like Velma's stupid daughter Amber (Brittany Snow).
Tracy is very upset, but her friend Penny (Amanda Bynes) cheer her up. At a dance contest, Tracy proves that she really can dance. The host for the show, Corny himself (James Marsden), likes her and put her in the show as the new dancer.
But it isn't going to be easy for Tracy when allmost everyone seems to dislike her, except for Tracy's dreamboy, Link (Zac Efron). Will Tracy keep up with the others, or will she give up her dream forever? Or will she even have a chance to choose?
This is the perfect musical. It's happy, fun and you really feel good after seeing it! Real feel-good. There's a good message with it too, so this movie got IT! One of the best in the history.
I've seen this many times, and I never get tired of it. The best grade; 5 of 5! See this, or you'll miss something you'll never forget. You'll like this! I love the songs too, so what is there that this musical comedy doesn't have?
